Personal Interests

Dr. Newmier lives in Trappe with his wife and 2 sons. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golf, fishing and cheering for the Boston Red Sox.

Biography

Born in New Jersey and raised on Cape Cod, Dr. Newmier learned to appreciate the outdoors. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his residency in Cleveland, OH, he moved to the Eastern Shore and began seeing patients in Cambridge. In 2001, Dr. Newmier founded Rose Hill Family Physicians and has practiced personal Family Medicine since then.

Dr. Newmier has been active on several committees for Shore Regional Health, including a two-year term as Chief of Staff at Dorchester General Hospital. He has served on the Board of the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians in many capacities, including Chapter President from 2010-2012. Currently, he serves as Delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians Congress of Delegates.

Believing that physicians have an obligation to teach those who come after us, Dr. Newmier has served as a Volunteer Faculty preceptor for the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine. Teaching medical students is a passion for him. Look for those fresh young faces in the office from time to time!

Dr. Newmier has a special interest in preventative health, Diabetes management, and cholesterol management. He sees patients age 12 and up.
